Vrushika Mehta, a popular actress known for her role in Dil Dosti Dance (D3), recently visited Mumbai specifically for Navratri celebrations. Hailing from a Gujarati background, she shares that her love for Navratri and garba runs deep within her. The festive season holds special significance for her, and she finds joy in dressing up, meeting friends, and dancing to the energetic music. Despite being a resident of Mumbai, Vrushika expresses her desire to experience the vibrant Navratri celebrations in Gujarat someday. She fondly recalls her childhood memories of Navratri, reminiscing about her competitive spirit in garba competitions and her love for traditional chaniya cholis. Vrushika emphasizes the importance of comfortable yet elegant attire and versatile jewelry choices depending on the occasion. Her enthusiasm for Navratri and garba shines through as an integral part of her cultural identity."I used to aspire to win every garba competition in my childhood." Recalling her fond memories of the festival from her youth, she reminisces, "My mother used to dress me up and to keep me still while she painted three dots on my chin, she would bribe me with chocolates (laughs). I was very competitive and determined to win a prize each night. It was all about dancing with all my heart and feeling like a little star." Discussing her preferred Navratri attire, she reveals, "I adore flared chaniya cholis, but I opt for lighter ones to ensure comfort and elegant spins. For jewelry, if I'm filming a reel, I opt for something grand to make a statement. However, for dancing, I choose more delicate pieces that complement my outfit." "I am looking forward to the moment when Saurabh and I can celebrate Navratri together." Saurabh (her spouse) enjoys garba, and his style differs greatly from mine, something I am eager to learn. Regrettably, we haven't had the opportunity to celebrate Navratri together. We did enjoy playing garba during my wedding festivities, which was delightful. I anticipate the day we can celebrate Navratri together. Vrushika comments, "Spins are definitely my favorite, along with the playful popatiyu. I also enjoy incorporating dodhiyu and trikoniya moves to add variety." And her favorite garba song? The actress reveals, "Dakla is one of my all-time favorite garba songs due to its infectious energy. Additionally, I am a huge fan of Falguni Pathak; her songs are iconic and always set the perfect mood for Navratri." Speaking about her cherished on-set Navratri memory, Vrushika recalls, "During the Dil Dosti Dance filming, we had to shoot Dholi Taro Dhol Baaje; it lasted for half a day, and it was an absolute blast! Our D3 gatherings always include garba."
